MAKO, the new Sea World roller coaster was opened to the public today, June 10th, but we participated in the media preview that took place on June 8th and 9th so we could tell you everything!
MAKO™ is a hypercoaster that had its design inspired by the Mako shark and is currently the fastest, tallest and longest in Orlando. It is 61 meters high, the trail is 1,451 meters long and it reaches 118km/h.The hypercoasters, a type of roller coaster characterized by extreme speeds, steep falls, ascents and descents that provide the feeling of zero gravity – the known air time.
As the carts slide up and down, people who are stuck only at waist height – float and experience the sensation of zero gravity.
The Shark Wreck Reef, which already had the Shark Encounter attraction, some interactive and educational exhibitions, gastronomic options and stores, has now also won the Mako, which is the 5th roller coaster of Sea World. The others are:
- Kraken® – the subject of a huge mythological underwater monster that submerges from the depths of the ocean.
- Manta® – the only flying roller coaster of its kind; visitors glide on their stomachs in a course full of inversions and loops.
- Journey to Atlantis® – an aquatic roller coaster that takes visitors to the mythical city of Atlantis.
- Shamu Express® – a small roller coaster perfect for families with young children.
