Universal Studios is the park for film lovers. Universal Orlando Resort is investing heavily in new attractions in the park and there are always so many new things happening that even those who visit the park often find something new to do.
Some of the classic attractions in the park are E.T., Men in Black Alien Attack and Revenge of The Mummy, but the park has bet on new blockbusters and turned some movies into spectacular attractions. After the successful release of the attraction based on the movie Despicable Me (My Evil Favorite), with the cute Minions and 3D Transformers, the bet was on the world of Harry Potter with Diagon Alley that connects directly with Hogsmeade in the Islands of Adventure park, by Hogwarts train.
Escape from Gringotts has an interactive queue that runs inside the seat and is one of the most interesting attractions in Diagonal Alley. Get to the park before opening so you don’t have to face the long queues and if you’re staying at the complex’s hotels, take advantage of the earlier guest time. Be enchanted by the architecture and details of the shops and restaurants and prepare yourself for an immersion in the world of the Harry Potter witch. Be sure to try the dishes at Leaky Cauldron and after lunch, try the delicious ice creams at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour.
Don’t forget to buy the park-to-park ticket so you can also enjoy the Harry Potter area on Islands of Adventure.
There is no meal with character in this park. Minions and the entire class of “My Evil Favorite” (Despicable Me) receive for breakfast at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort hotel every Saturday.
Besides Harry Potter, Transformers and Despicable Me, you saw the Simpsons’ Springfield in the same area where the fun-filled Simpsons Ride already existed. Springfield has several restaurants and shops, including Moe’s bar where we found Duff Beer, Flaming Moe’s drink and a Krusty burger shop. For roller coasters, the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and the Revenge of the Mummy don’t disappoint. Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon Fast & Furious Supercharged are some of the newest attractions in the park. Also try the delights of Today Café, inspired by NBC’s morning show.
For the little ones there are several attractions like Shrek 4-D, Fievel’s Playland which has a wet area that kids love, especially on hot days and Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster which is a roller coaster for kids, perfect for those who are going to try a roller coaster for the first time.
